What is PallavPaash?

Pallav + Paash

Pallav (पल्लव) = Tender leaf / new life

Paash (पाश) = Sacred tie / emotional bond

A festival creating emotional bonds with trees through natural threads and environmental pledges.

Why This Festival?

While we celebrate friendship, love and family days, we had no emotional festival for trees.

PallavPaash creates personal connection with nature through meaningful rituals everyone can participate in.

While working with The Samajh NGO, young Dhananjay noticed we had festivals for everything except trees.

"हमने पेड़ों के लिए कौन-सा त्योहार बनाया है?"
"Which festival have we created for trees?"

This innocent question sparked the creation of PallavPaash - a festival that celebrates our bond with nature.

Dhananjay insisted the sacred thread must be natural:

"अगर हम पेड़ से बंधन जोड़ते हैं, तो वो बंधन भी प्रकृति से ही होना चाहिए।"

The PallavPaash Ritual

Prepare Paash

Create sacred thread from natural materials only:

  • Dry Grass
  • Jute
  • Coconut Fibre
  • Green Grass

No plastic • Fully compostable

Choose a Tree

Select any tree that speaks to you:

  • Near home or school
  • In park or temple
  • Any tree you connect with

Tie the Paash

Gently tie the natural thread while speaking the pledge:

"मैं तुम्हारी रक्षा करूंगा,
जैसे तुम मेरी करते हो।"

The Earth Pledge

Before tying the Paash, take these 5 sacred vows:

💧 मैं पानी बर्बाद नहीं करूंगा।
I will not waste water.
🌳 मैं हर साल एक पेड़ लगाऊंगा।
I will plant a tree every year.
🚫 मैं प्लास्टिक का उपयोग बंद करूंगा।
I will stop using plastic.
🐾 मैं जानवरों को हानि नहीं पहुंचाऊंगा।
I will not harm animals.
⚡ मैं बिजली और ऊर्जा की बचत करूंगा।
I will conserve electricity and energy.
