This policy applies to all volunteers engaged in activities on behalf of The Samajh, regardless of the duration or nature of their voluntary work.

The Samajh does not charge any fees for volunteering. Beware of anyone requesting payment for volunteer opportunities in our name.

- Prospective volunteers must complete a registration form indicating their interests and availability

- Ongoing Support: Continuous guidance from assigned supervisors

7. Time Commitment & Scheduling
We offer flexible volunteering opportunities to accommodate diverse availability:
- Regular Volunteering: Weekly or monthly commitments with fixed schedules

- Virtual Volunteering: Remote opportunities that can be done from home

Office-based volunteering typically occurs during our operational hours (Monday-Friday, 11 am-6 pm).
8. Volunteer Rights & Benefits
As a volunteer at The Samajh, you have the right to:
- Receive appropriate training and supervision for your role
- Work in a safe and healthy environment
- Be treated with respect and dignity
- Have your contributions recognized and valued
- Receive a certificate of volunteering upon completion (minimum 1 month)
- Request a reference after substantial contribution (minimum 3 months)
- Voice concerns or provide feedback without fear of retaliation
9. Code of Conduct
All volunteers are expected to adhere to The Samajh's Code of Conduct:
- Treat everyone with respect, dignity, and without discrimination
- Maintain appropriate boundaries with beneficiaries and staff
- Respect confidentiality and privacy of all stakeholders
- Use organizational resources responsibly and only for authorized purposes
- Refrain from using drugs or alcohol during volunteer activities
- Dress appropriately for the volunteer activity and cultural context
- Immediately report any concerns about safety or inappropriate behavior
Violation of the Code of Conduct may result in termination of the volunteer relationship.
10. Support & Supervision
Volunteers will receive ongoing support and supervision:
- Each volunteer will have a designated supervisor
- Regular check-ins will be scheduled to provide guidance and feedback
- Volunteers can access support from staff during operational hours
- A grievance procedure is available for resolving concerns or conflicts
11. Termination of Volunteering
Volunteering may be concluded for various reasons:
- Completion of agreed time period or project
- Volunteer's decision to discontinue (with reasonable notice)
- Changes in organizational needs or programs
- Performance or conduct issues that violate policies
We request at least one week's notice for regular volunteers planning to discontinue their service.
